Engagement across generations
Wallenberg Investments administers the Wallenberg Foundations and managing and developing their assets. The largest assets of the Foundations are the partly-owned industrial holding company Investor, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, and the wholly-owned holding company Wallenberg Investments. The management is rooted in the Wallenberg family’s long-standing tradition of engaged ownership, a guiding principle since 1856. Through long-term direct and indirect ownership in companies with world-leading market positions, strategic investments, and active portfolio development, Wallenberg Investments creates long-term value and returns. Wallenberg Investments brings the Foundations’ grant-making activities, asset management and corporate governance together in a single organization with five investment units: Industrials, Real Assets, Alternative Funds, Special Investments, and Ventures.
The Wallenberg ecosystem
The Wallenberg ecosystem comprises 16 non-profit foundations – the Wallenberg Foundations, the industrial holding company Investor, and the privately held company Wallenberg Investments. Through long-term and engaged ownership, returns are generated that enable the Foundations to support basic research and education, strengthening Sweden over time. The Wallenberg family is an active part of the ecosystem through their involvement in boards, governance, and networks. Today, members of the fifth generation lead the family’s activities, with growing engagement from the sixth generation.
Five units, one mission
The assets are divided into five investment units, ranging from listed industrial holdings to early-stage ventures. Together, they span the entire corporate lifecycle, united by a shared foundation of long-term ownership.
