Following the announcement today by SEB’s nomination committee proposing Martina Wallenberg as a new board member, we would like to share additional information about other upcoming changes involving members of the sixth generation.
The succession process has been ongoing for more than a decade, and during 2025 we were able to communicate several steps forward regarding the sixth generation’s engagement in activities connected to the Wallenberg family.
The starting point remains the same: to give the sixth generation (6G) the opportunity to contribute to activities close to the family, in line with their professional development and willingness to engage. The group is large and at different stages, which makes this a gradual and long-term process.
The changes below underline that the succession work is progressing and that more members of the sixth generation want to contribute, are given the opportunity to learn, and begin to take on responsibility.
Changes during 2026:
- Martina Wallenberg – proposed board member of SEB
- Emma Pilkington – elected board member of Brilliant Minds Foundation
- Philippe Gandet – proposed board member of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce
- Marc Wallenberg – project assignment at Navigare Ventures
- Alice Wallenberg – engaged in the family’s internal administrative work
In addition, around fifteen other members of the sixth generation are already involved in activities connected to the family in boards both company and foundations, as well as contributing to internal family work. Several of them are also pursuing their careers in organizations associated with the Wallenberg Foundations and Wallenberg Investments and its direct and indirect holdings.
“It is gratifying that the work with the sixth generation is taking further steps forward. This is a long-term effort in which we gradually want to give the next generation the opportunity to learn, contribute, and take responsibility. That engagement is growing – across the business, the foundations, and the family work – is positive for our ability to continue contributing to research, education, and the development of our ecosystem in the future as well,” commented Jacob, Marcus, and Peter Wallenberg.
