FAM invests in American quantum-technology company SEEQC together with EQT Ventures

Seeqc develops hardware solutions for quantum computing systems that solve inefficiencies in reading quantum bits (“qubits”) in an energy-efficient way. The company is active in Machine Learning and digital quantum computing technology – two of the important technologies of the future. FAM has invested USD 4 million in Seeqc together with EQT Ventures, which led the funding round.

Seeqc (Elmsford, New York) is developing the first digital quantum computing platform for global businesses. Seeqc combines classical and quantum technologies to address the efficiency, stability and cost issues endemic to quantum computing systems. Seeqc’s quantum system provides the energy and cost efficiency, speed and digital control required to make quantum computing useful and bring the first commercially-scalable, problem-specific quantum computing applications to market.

"We are pleased to back EQT Ventures in the investment in Seeqc because we believe the company has an interesting technology in an area that can have a major impact on business and society. Quantum computing technology is a field that we have some insight into through our owners, the Wallenberg Foundations, which grant funding for basic research of excellence at Swedish universities", says Kristian Sildeby, Investment Manager at FAM.
