Ownership and holdings

Through the Wallenberg Foundations, the Wallenberg family is deeply engaged in research and education and as a long-term and active owner of the companies where the Foundations are majority owners, either directly or indirectly. Dividends received from holdings are utilized for research and education grants that strengthen Sweden as a country over time. The diagram below outlines the various holdings and the ownership structure. At year-end 2023, the combined assets of all the Foundations had a total value of approximately SEK 262 billion.

FAM

FAM is an active and engaged owner of innovative companies with a long-term ownership horizon. The ownership focuses on a number of strategic holdings and several alternative investments. FAM’s largest holdings include SKF, Stora Enso, Munters, IPCO, Kopparfors Skogar, The Grand Group, Höganäs, Nefab, and Kivra. By actively contributing to the long-term development of its holdings, FAM aims to increase their dividend capacity and value over time. The value growth and dividends from FAM contribute to the Foundations' ability to provide significant grants for world-class research and education. FAM was formed in 2007 and currently has over 20 companies in its portfolio.

Navigare Ventures

Navigare Ventures is a long-term investor specializing in early-stage, science-driven companies. The company focuses on areas crucial for Sweden's future competitiveness, including AI, quantum technology, synthetic biology, advanced materials, and data-driven life sciences. Established in 2022, Navigare Ventures currently supports over 25 companies.

Nineteen Private Capital

Nineteen Private Capital is a subsidiary to Wallenberg Investments AB and was formed in 2023 to make investments in alternative funds. Together with FAM, Investor and Navigare Ventures, Nineteen Private Capital represent a long-term ownership strategy with a combined mission of strengthening the Wallenberg Foundations.
